Ramalama, the occaisional interloper, and I have been debating capitalism vs communism in basically every thread that has come up here. So I figured I should make a thread to prevent too much off topic discussion.

So I say capitalism is best because the constant competition ensures innovation, and that the most cost effect methods are used. Communism, socialism, fascism, and others all create large bureaucracies that take up money and manpower. Resources that could be used to create a usable product rather than having all of it go towards instructing other people. So while money would be more evenly distributed in socialism and communism, it wastes so much that even a poor person in capitalism is better off.

So you mean to tell me that all the religions are state religions, but they kill and torture Taoists, Christians, Muslims, and Buddhists for believing what they do?

At what time do you think China stopped being communist? Do you think the USSR was communist?

China stopped being communist when the fuckers in the government ditched the ideals of Mao and let Western-Capitalist-Pigs stroll in and do as they pleased.

The USSR was founded with the idea of being Communist, but that all came tumbling down when some dude called Stalin took power. Sure, Lenin got rid of Fedualism (a good thing), but Stalin just replaced Fedual Farming with Collectives.

A poor person in Capitalism will always be poor, their share of the wealth will always be held by someone richer.

not necisarilly. take Carneggy for example, he started as a dirt poor irish imagrant who rose to be one of the richest men in the world (at the time)

sure there will always be someone richer but thats in any form of market.

captialisim allows for the oppertunity for anyone to become rich.

Captialisim works perefectly for those who actually take advantage of it.

in a capatalist society a crack head could easily become rich if he just set his mind and had enough drive.

I'm dirt poor but i support capatalisim. i do however think there should be some reghulation in some aspects of it.

Agreed with SFSW. Capitalism rewards those with hard work and/or good ideas. Socialism gives everyone the same amount no matter what, which I don't think is fair. Plus it demotivates one to work harder.

Adam Smith envisioned a completely free market, where anything goes. He said that, should this happen, everyone would be equal, because of his Invisible Hand theory, where everything would equal out, all thanks to greed.

The US tried to do this, but when some people got shit on when it started to take off, the government stepped in. Fast-forward two hundred years, and we have a $700 Billion buy-out. Way to go, America.
